- Preparation: The vaccine was derived from the Wyeth strain of vaccinia by the insertion of the PSA gene into the viral genome (Eder et al., 2000).
- Description: This is for Prostate Cancer (NCT00005039). A recombinant vaccinia virus encoding prostate-specific antigen (PSA). Vaccination with recombinant vaccinia-PSA may stimulate the host immune system to mount a cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL) response against tumor cells positive for PSA, which may decrease tumor growth (NCI04) (Gulley et al., 2002; NCIT_C29945).
