VIOLIN Vaccine Informatics and Resource Advisory Committee

 

Mission: To promote application of informatics technologies for vaccine research and create a centralized vaccine research data resource.


This committee currently includes many well-known professors in and outside the University of Michigan:

Members outside the University of Michigan:

  • Dr. Victor DiRita, Professor, Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics, Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI 48824, USA. Research interests: Biology and pathogenicity of bacteria; Vibrio cholerae and Campylobacter jejuni pathogenesis.
  • Dr. Paul Kilgore, MPH, MD, Associate Professor, Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Wayne State University, 259 Mack Ave. Suite 2118, Detroit, MI 48201. Research interests: Reduction of disease burden associated with bacterial and viral infections.
  • Dr. Shan Lu, Professor, University of Massachusetts Medical School. Research interest: Infectious Diseases and Immunology, DNA vaccine, HIV vaccine development.

Members inside the University of Michigan:

  • Dr. Gil Omenn, Center for Computational Medicine and Biology, Department of Human Genetics. Research interests: Human genomics, proteomics, and cancer research.
  • Dr. James Koopman, Department of Epidemiology, School of Public Health. Research interests: infectious disease transmission system modeling.
  • Dr. Zhenhua Yang, Department of Epidemiology, School of Public Health. Research interests: Mycobacterium tuberculosis research.
