gene engineering:
- Type: Recombinant protein preparation
- Description:
- Detailed Gene Information: Click Here.
- Preparation: DCs grown by culturing PBMC in the presence of GM-CSF and IL-4 were infected with an adenoviral construct containing wt-p53 (Chiappori et al., 2010).
- Description: An autologous vaccine composed of dendritic cells (DC) that have been transduced with a p53 tumor suppressor gene-modified virus. When the autologous dendritic cell-adenovirus p53 vaccine is administered, the host cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTL) are directed against p53-positive tumor cells, which may result in tumor cell death and decreased tumor growth. (NCI04) (NCIT_C26445).
This vaccine has been used used in clinical trials involving small cell lung cancer, metastatic solid tumors and invasive breast cancer. (Soliman et al., 2018; Chiappori et al., 2010)
