Brucella VirB9 VirB10 Omp19 Omp25 IgV CTLA-4 subunit vaccine |
| Vaccine Information |
- Vaccine Name: Brucella VirB9 VirB10 Omp19 Omp25 IgV CTLA-4 subunit vaccine
- Target Pathogen: Brucella spp.
- Target Disease: Brucellosis
- Vaccine Ontology ID: VO_0009561
- Type: Subunit vaccine
- Status: Research
- Host Species for Licensed Use: Human
- Antigen: VirB9; VirB10; Omp19; Omp25; IgV_CTLA-4
- Preparation: Multiple epitopes including cytotoxic T lymphocyte, helper T lymphocyte, linear B-cell, and conformational B-cell epitopes from VirB9, VirB10, Omp19, and Omp25 were linked together to maintain correct protein folding; the MEV protein was fused with IgV_CTLA-4 to create the vaccine V_C4MEV. (He et al, 2024)
- Description: A novel multi-epitope vaccine (MEV) was designed to prevent human Brucella infection by combining multiple epitopes from four Brucella proteins with the immunoglobulin variable region of CTLA-4 (IgV_CTLA-4) to enhance immune activation. Efficacy: V_C4MEV demonstrated favorable immunogenicity and antigenicity, showing potential to activate defensive cells and immune responses against Brucella. Immune response: The vaccine showed potential to activate defensive immune cells and elicit immune responses, indicating promising immunogenic properties. (He et al, 2024)
