Vaccine Detail

Brucella abortus Omp2b subunit vaccine
Vaccine Information
  • Vaccine Name: Brucella abortus Omp2b subunit vaccine
  • Target Pathogen: Brucella spp.
  • Target Disease: Brucellosis
  • Vaccine Ontology ID: VO_0009357
  • Type: Subunit vaccine
  • Status: Research
  • Host Species for Licensed Use: Human
  • Host Species as Laboratory Animal Model: Escherichia coli BL21
  • Antigen: Omp2b
  • Preparation: Cloning and expression of the short form of Omp2b (SOmp2b) was performed using pET28a expression vector in Escherichia coli BL21, followed by purification of recombinant SOmp2b protein under denaturation conditions using Ni-NTA column. (Golshani et al, 2016)
  • Description: The study aimed to analyze the secondary and tertiary structures of Brucella abortus Omp2b protein and predict T-cell and B-cell epitopes using bioinformatics tools to support its potential as a vaccine antigen. Immune response: The Omp2b protein has potential to induce both B-cell- and T-cell-mediated immune responses as predicted by bioinformatics analyses. (Golshani et al, 2016)
