Molecule Role Protective antigen
Molecule Role Annotation Mice were immunized with a recombinant fragment of CNA protein, and were then challenged with the S. aureus clinical isolate strain Phillips. At 14 d after inoculation, mortality in the collagen adhesin-vaccinated group was only 13%, compared with 87% in the control antigen immunized group (Nilsson et al., 1998).
Mice vaccinated with a combination of two Staphylococcus aureus antigens consisting of a recombinant collagen-binding protein (CnBP) and alpha-toxoid (alpha-toxoid) were significantly protected from intramammary challenge infection with S. aureus.(Mamo et al., 2000)
